Benji Bananas is that type of game that tends to swing onto your phone and hold tight for a long time, an entertainment for you during the time and proving that endless swinging adventures like this one can take you far for free.

After spending countless hours collecting bananas, getting to hate snakes and taking a good beating from tigers, I have decided that it’s time to take a break and share with you my Benji Bananas review before I head back to my little jungle to swing some more.
Things in Benji Bananas are not extremely original to start with: we have seen the genre and the type of play often before, but it still manages to be extremely addictive and appealing. You play as a monkey who feels the love and has to collect tons of bananas to make his beloved monkey love him even more. The fun part only now begins, with you swinging from to vine, trying to go as far as you can while, at the same time, collecting as many bananas as possible. It’s an endless adventure with an endless list of reasons why you’ll love it.

Benji bananas adventures - a cute monkey called Benji travels the jungle and collect delicious bananas. Help Benji avoid different dangers and traps. The control scheme is a bit odd at first and takes some time to get used with: in Benji Bananas, tapping and holding the lower right side of the device makes Benji the monkey ready to grab a vine. After grabbing it, you have to hold the vine and release only when you want to “jump” which requires perfect timing in some occasions and frustration in others. However, this control scheme will only be problematic for the first few minutes, you’ll get used with it in no time and it
will work as a charm.

Although we have a ton of variety in terms of “worlds” (levels) that Benji explores (for example, I reached world 6 and I am sure that there are a lot more left to explore), the game’s real value comes from the in-game power-ups and boosts. Those come in three different flavors: the ones you can purchase in the store and have a temporary effect , the permanent boosts and those that you can pick-up during your swinging craze. These are varied and really nice, making things easier for you once you get them. Getting enough bananas to purchase them is the real challenge, which will see you play many hours of the game.
There are also missions that you complete for extra rewards, the graphics are sweet and although the game is free, there are no annoying ads or a real need for in-game purchases (I don’t even know if there’s such an option – it’s so natural to play the game without even thinking about spending a dime on it).
There are far too many special effects, and they are distracting. Even though there is nothing technically wrong with the CGI, the movie makes some bad choices which destroys the illusion of having animals as real as say the Tiger in Life of Pi. Like their animated counter parts, the cast of this Jungle Book have animated lips, making them un-compatible with the very real world they live in. There are also too many stagy sequences featuring unrealistic numbers of animals, which in the 21st century wouldn't even convince an eight year old that CGI wasn't needed.
All in all, Benji Bananas is a great game that will certainly entertain even the grumpiest person out there. It’s charming, it’s great, it’s swinging fun.
